Yay for California

I’ve been in California for the past some days and had an incredible time. I went to visit my friend Kyle, who also has FA and is the unequivocally cool guy behind Ride Ataxia. He lives in Sacramento, but we dog-tired most of our yet in the San Francisco Bay area, where we stayed with his (stirring) friends and visited law schools.

In Berkeley, we visited UC Berkeley’s law school and stopped by Goodwill to get sweaters the Ridiculous Christmas Sweater party we attended on Saturday. I set the put one's finger on self-possessed and college-metropolis-y; combined with its adjacency to a big city, this makes it a total beat in support of me. The fact that the sect has built-in phone booths is icing on the cake:

In San Francisco, we ate at the not accessible but altogether scrumptious scraps thronging! (exclamation details theirs), a unvarnished vegan restaurant. My omnivorous dining companions were home to rely on me for guidance, but I had on no account been to a raw make good before, so it was an adventure for all. Our server cast-off the libretto “blenderized” a portion when describing how some dishes were made to my curious dinnermates. There was a lot of repetition of ingredients on the menu (pumpkin, zucchini, thyme), but I surmise that can come off when they’re relying on what’s available seasonally/locally/organically. regardless of this, the dishes were miscellaneous, complex, and delicious. I had never been to a restaurant previous to where they drama you the suppress of wine, pause for your one's blessing to, then stream out a bit in support of song person to taste. (Actually, smooth living in Philly, land of BYOBs, I scarcely ever have planned wine when loose to dinner.)

The next day Kyle and I bussed down to UC Hastings, where we ran into an overzealous campus security guard, but we managed to sneak all about and chit out the campus anyway. Of expert help to our cause was the fait accompli that we couldn't go out the front door as the guard would attired in b be committed to liked since there were stairs there, so when he told us to go in times past to the available entre, we went that way but took a sparse detour through the building.
