Walcott, don’t you know that it’s insane?
I didn’t post last weekend, but it doesn’t mean we didn’t do anything.
We mostly had a chilled time, but we did go to Taste of Red Bank. Basically, you buy a ticket to go sample food from 30+ restaurants around the area. The weather was good, people were happy, I got to try food from all these new places (they’re mostly quite expensive so I don’t go out to Red Bank very often) = very good day.
I meant to take lots of pictures of the food (especially god ones like penne with walnut sauce, pumpkin pancakes, homemade ravioli, etc); but I got distracted. :p These are the only 2 presentable photos:

This weekend, we drove up to Smith. All in all, it was another wonderful weekend with tons of good friends and great food.
We took 1/2 day off from work on Friday and started driving at around 1:30pm. I thought we’d miss all the commuter traffic that way, but no~~~~. We were moving pretty slowly from George Washington Bridge (NJ => NY) plus the WHOLE TIME we were in Connecticut. I don’t know what the problem was. The road was congested for no good reason, so we just decided it’s just Connecticut’s fault.
We got to Smith at 7pm and went straight to Taipei & Tokyo for some sushi with Helene and Su. Let me say that the waiter was very very great! He was joking with us the whole time. He ended up giving us a free sake at the end of dinner!! Since they’re finally 21, we went to Dirty Truth for some beer (Im skipped this part, because of the free sake earlier), Package’s for some sweeter drinks and Harrell’s for ice cream (no need to be 21 here). Way~~~ past my bed time, but it was an excellent night.

The rest of the weekend, we continued eating at Sylvester’s (spinach omelet!) , Haymarket, Mama Iguana (enchilada + michelada!) and Woodstar Cafe with more friends (the 2 we hung out with + Marguerite + Briana). And, of course, we had to stop by Faces, Raven bookstore and other random stores around our beloved NoHo.

I almost bought that hat.
So… we just got home after another trip through traffic-y Connecticut. After such an awesome food weekend, I’m not sure I can go back to having to cook for myself again… :p
