My 40th Birthday in the Big Apple

How many three-star Michelin restaurants have you been to in your get-up-and-go?

Me, I've been to exactly zero.

Until next Friday -- when I get to eat at... (drum ride) Le Bernardin in recent York City.

Le Bernardin is one of only three restaurants in creative York awarded Michelin's highest award: three stars.

The Michelin three stars is arguably the highest culinary honor in the world. Yes, set higher than winning Top Chef America. ;-)

The restaurant was voted 20th best in the world in the Restaurant armoury, and Top 50 for 2008.

Here's Chef Eric Ripert, with a whole oodles of truffles:

After a multi-seminar dinner, we're to the theater to see "South Pacific". What a professional night it will be. I can't imagine a better acknowledge proceeding to keep my 40th birthday.

In adding up to Le Bernardin, we purpose be dining at the following two establishments:

(1) H & H Bagels - finest bagels in the free world.

And (2) John's Pizzeria on Bleeker Street in Greenwich Village.

conjecture what you want regarding Grimaldi's and Lombardi's. Yeah, they're moral.

But John's is my first bang.

I have two more dinner slots to expand supply. (We'll go to H & H and John's during the day.) We are staying at the palazzo Hotel for three chiefly nights!

For me, this is like going to Disneyland.
