Gutter Ball
Science marches on…field tests are completed and the results are being tabulated/confabulated…Rexer’s no longer illegal mezcal is muy interesante…the joven/young bottle is fine, the reposado and anejo are hard to tell apart and its an interesting smoky/peaty flavor, almost reminiscent of Laphroig in some ways and not your typical tequila buzz. It ain’t cheap but its small batch/handcrafted magic..two bums…no, thumbs up!..go slurp some at Cafe No Se…take $$…25-55 quetzals a shot and the glasses are filled to the brim.
And the winner of the Grand Canyon Award, bottoming out at twelve inches, located on lower Avenida 5ta is….

As deep as it gets
so…who foots the bill when you step in this lovely chuck-hole?
Ever go to the post office? no lines, only Norma at the counter, who does everything except lick your stamps for you(and never has any small change)take a pocket of coins, in other words…I left her a three and a half q propina/tip and was rewarded with a 100q smile..

pushing the envelope
(missing in action…Scott Stanton of Que Pasa…in ’sunny London for a few days…)
These guys should clean up(and do)but they need a little more aggressive marketing plan: if it were up to me(and it ain’t)I’d suggest bikini girls, lotsa soap suds and more advertising…but for 25 quetzals regardless of the size of your bus(a bit more if its extra dirty)you get the inside and out washed and dried…no word on a choice of air fresheners. Franklin and Aliezer…16A 6ta Sur…go see ‘em.

cleaning up on lower 6th avenue
and for the capper, bizarre allegations/gossip about a ‘crack house’ on upper 4th Avenida: stories of police raids followed by payoffs to the neighbors and a re-opening, with a menu/smorgasbord of ingestibles…there were signs of someone moving out in the vicinity of the place this morning, and maybe business wasn’t what is was cracked up to be…did the marching powder take effect? ’tis fairly strange, by anyone’s standards(assuming we have any).
